Island Airporter

About us

Two people, one shuttle, and a very early alarm clock.

Tami & Ray run Island Airporter, a family business run from Friday Harbor, Washington, one weekday run at a time.

The family behind the wheel

Getting from the San Juan Islands to a morning flight used to mean a ferry, a bus, a train, and a lot of crossed fingers. Tami and Ray started Island Airporter to make it one simple ride: the shuttle meets you on San Juan Island while it is still dark, rides the early ferry with you, and pulls up to the departures level of the airport.

It’s still just us. Ray and Tami take turns driving every mile. Whoever isn’t driving takes the phone calls and reservations. The run goes Roche Harbor, Friday Harbor, the Lopez ferry line, then down I-5 to SeaTac and back again leaving SeaTac by late morning.

We run weekdays only, take major holidays off, and know some of our riders by name by the 2nd trip. That’s the way we like it.

Local, through and through

Based in Friday Harbor, owned and operated by the same two people you’ll meet at the curb.

The ferry is part of the job

We plan every run around the Washington State Ferries seasons. When the sailings change, our schedule changes with them.

Older travelers welcome

Big-print confirmations, patient loading, and a hand with the luggage. No app required, and the phone always works.

One shuttle, done right

No fleet, no franchises. Just a clean, comfortable shuttle with room for your whole party and the suitcases too.
